Privacy Policy

Quizpep: Product Quiz Builder ("Quizpep", "we", "us") is a Shopify app that lets merchants add product quizzes to their stores. It is provided by Blinix Solutions LLC, a company registered in the United States. This policy explains what data Quizpep handles, why, how it is protected, and when it is deleted.

It covers two groups of people:

Merchants who install Quizpep on their Shopify store. For their store and account data, we decide how it is used.
Shoppers who take a quiz on a merchant's store. For their data, we act on the merchant's behalf and follow the merchant's instructions. The merchant's own privacy policy also applies to them.

Data about merchants and their stores

Store details from Shopify: store domain, store name, currency, time zone and languages.
Access tokens that let the app work with the store through Shopify's API.
Your quizzes, settings, plan and billing status. Payments are handled by Shopify; we never see card details.
Product information from your store (titles, prices, tags, types, vendors, collections, images and availability), used to recommend products.
API keys for the email and marketing apps you choose to connect.
While you use the app in Shopify admin: your IP address and browser details, kept in a session for up to two hours.

Data about shoppers

Their quiz answers. If the merchant adds a form page, this can include a name, phone number or birthday.
Their email address, only if the merchant's quiz asks for it, and whether they agreed to receive marketing.
The products recommended to them, and whether they added them to the cart.
For orders placed after a quiz: the order number, subtotal and date. We do not store addresses or payment details.

How we use it

To run the merchant's quizzes and recommend products.
To show merchants their results, analytics and submissions.
To send shoppers their results by email, when the merchant turns this on.
To send quiz data to the apps the merchant connects (for example Klaviyo, Mailchimp or Shopify customers), as the merchant instructs.
To bill for the app through Shopify, provide support, and keep the service secure.

We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use it for any purpose other than providing Quizpep to the merchant.

Consent

Shoppers are only added to a merchant's email marketing if they tick the consent checkbox in the quiz. Quiz events are sent to Google Analytics only if the shopper allowed analytics in the store's cookie banner, and to the Meta Pixel only if they allowed marketing.

Who we share data with

Shopify, which runs the merchant's store and handles app billing.
Our hosting provider (Namecheap, United States), which runs the servers that store the data.
Apps the merchant connects, only when the merchant turns them on. These apps process the data under their own terms with the merchant.
Authorities, if the law requires it.

How we protect it

All data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Shoppers' emails and answers, access tokens and connected app keys are encrypted in our database.
Only people who run and support Quizpep can access the servers.

How long we keep it

Shoppers' quiz data is deleted automatically 24 months after the quiz was taken. Totals in analytics (for example the number of completions) contain no personal data and are kept.
When a merchant uninstalls Quizpep, Shopify tells us 48 hours later and we delete that store's quizzes, submissions and settings.
When a shopper asks a merchant to erase their data through Shopify, we delete their quiz data automatically.

Your rights

Shoppers: to see, correct or delete your data, contact the store where you took the quiz. The store can use Shopify's privacy tools, and we act on those requests automatically. You can also write to us and we will pass your request to the store.

Merchants: you can export your submissions at any time in the app, and ask us about your data at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as the right to object or to complain to a data protection authority.

International transfers

Quizpep is hosted in the United States. If you are outside the US, your data is transferred there and protected as described in this policy.

Children

Quizpep is a business tool for merchants and is not directed at children.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change, and change the date at the top. For significant changes we will tell merchants in the app.
